How do I arrange care?

Contact Horizon Care Ltd today to make an appointment for us to come and visit you. Our team can discuss any questions that you have and help you to decide what care or support you need. Once you have decided on the support you require, all you need to do is leave the rest to us.

What if I would like to change my care package?

The need to change care happens often as our needs shift. Our team understand that you may need to review your care and are on hand to carry out regular reviews. We are always happy to hear from members of close family about ways they think your care will benefit you the most.

What tasks will my carer provide?

A care plan will be agreed with you which details the exact instructions that we will do. This plan becomes a work list for each day and we use it to ensure we are providing the best care and support. See here for a list of personal care services that we can do.

We are available 24/7, 365 days a year to provide you with a cost-effective, professional and friendly care service.

What tasks will my carer not do?

Any tasks that we are able to carry out will be listed in your care plan. Giving injections or changing sterile dressings is not something that we can do. If a task will cause risk to the person we provide care to or the Horizon Care Ltd care worker, then we will not carry this out. If there are any changes to your care then they will be discussed with you.

Will I have the same care worker every day?

This will depend on the amount of care visits you receive a week, but we rarely have just one career attached to a particular customer. Having other care workers means that if your usual carer is on holiday or ill, you will never be left without help. Despite this, we try to keep the number of carers for each person down to a minimum.

What happens when the office is closed?

Our office is open during the following times:

  • Monday: 8am – 5pm
  • Tuesday: 8am – 5pm
  • Wednesday: 8am – 5pm
  • Thursday: 8am – 5pm
  • Friday: 8am – 4pm

If the office is closed, then we operate a 24-hour out of hours emergency service which can be reached by calling 01392 426340.

What safeguards do I have?

Horizon Care Ltd strictly follow the guidelines outlined by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulatory body which ensures care providers are delivering a high level of service. All our staff are DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service, formally CRB) checked to ensure they are trustworthy and capable of carrying out the services they provide.

We regularly train our staff on manual handling, safeguarding, health and safety, medication, first aid, and food preparation.
